benihana about us

Authentic food & fun since 1964

There once was a small shop in Tokyo that served the best coffee in the neighborhood – using only the freshest and most authentic grains and sugar. The owner’s son, Rocky Aoki, soon had his own dream of honoring guests with traditional cuisine and creative theatrics. In 1964, Rocky opened America’s first teppanyaki restaurant on West 56th street. He called it Benihana.

Today, Benihana has grown into America’s favorite dining experience. More than 70 restaurants around the country celebrate life’s events, big and small, with delightful food and intricate knife tricks that enchant children and parents alike.

Benihana’s chefs are now proud to bring their most popular recipes to your dinner table. With Benihana Frozen Meals, you can enjoy your favorite authentic Japanese cuisine any time or anywhere. Enjoy!
The BENIHANA Trademarks are owned by Benihana National Corp.
